Protis Joint fish protein from Iceland
Protis JOINTS contains Cucumaria frondosa extrakt
from the skin of wild sea cucumbers caught in Icelandic waters. The skin is mostly cartilage, so it is high in collagen and the bioactive substance chondroitin sulphate, which supports joint health and stimulates the regrowth of damaged cartilage. The collagen in Cucumaria frondosa extract is believed to be have more beneficial qualities than other collagens as it contains a higher proportion of vital amino acids, particularly tryptophan. The skin is also highly nutritious, containing high amounts of zinc, iodine and iron. Sea cucumbers are often referred to as Ginseng of the Sea, due to their high content of highly anti-inflammatory saponins. Turmeric contains curcumin, a bioactive compound with powerful anti-inflammatory effects, and is a very strong antioxidant.
The cod protein in Protis JOINTS is extracted using the IceProtein® technique, a hydrolysis technique where the fish protein is treated with water and enzymes before being filtered, leaving protein consisting only of small bioactive peptides. Fish proteins treated with water and enzymes are believed to facilitate the absorption of minerals such as calcium, which are necessary to maintain the body’s musculoskeletal system.
Protis JOINTS is fortified with Vitamin C, which supports the natural production of collagen in cartilage; Vitamin D, which is important for bone health, as it increases the absorption of calcium from the digestive system; and manganese, which is vital for the generation of cartilage and synovia.
